Bequest Language

Planning for the future and creating the legacy you wish to leave is one of the most effective ways to ensure a lasting impact. Making a gift in your will or living trust, known as a bequest, can guarantee that your legacy endures. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.

Preferred Bequest Language:

“I/We give, devise, and bequeath (specific gift; i.e.: dollar amount, percentage of estate, or rest and residue of estate) to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System for the use and benefit of ___________________ (designated purpose) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Such funds shall never become a part of the permanent University fund, the available University fund, or the general fund of The State of Texas and shall never be subject to appropriation by the Legislature of the State of Texas.

If in the opinion of the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, future circumstances change so that the purposes for which this gift is intended become illegal, impractical or no longer able to be carried out to meet the needs of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, said Board of Regents may designate an alternative use to further the objective of The University, in spirit of my/our original purpose.”

To designate your provision for an endowed gift:

“I/We give, devise, and bequeath (specific gift; i.e.: dollar amount, percentage of estate, or rest and residue of estate) to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System to establish/contribute to an endowment for the use and benefit of __________________ (designated purpose) at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Such funds shall never become a part of the permanent University fund, the available University fund, or the general fund of The State of Texas and shall never be subject to appropriation by the Legislature of the State of Texas.
